Last month Barry Fourson, 35, was arrested after being on the run for violating parole, vehicle theft and robbery. He had a long a long history of violent criminal charges and was considered armed and dangerous.
In 2007 he was arrested in Happy Valley with an outstanding parole violation due to drug use. Fourson was detained after he had crashed during a high speed chase.
Most notably in 2011 he was involved in a five-hour standoff in Weaverville. He was being pursued by the Weaverville narcotics task force, but when they caught up with him he held off authorities by claiming he had a bomb strapped to his body. Officers were able to arrest Fourson without any injuries.
Back in 2013, he was found hiding in a closet of a home in Cottonwood. Prior to being arrested he had stolen a car, crashed it, and had been discharging a firearm with the home at which he was found.
Most recently he was found in Anderson after police received a report that he had been stay at the nearby Deluxe Mobile Home Park. Fourson appeared to be acting irrational as though he had been under the influence of narcotics.
He had climbed on the roof of the trailer after being ordered to surrender, but was able to be apprehended by police along with the help of the local Cal Fire department. He continued to resist arrest even after being placed in handcuffs.
He is currently in Shasta County Jail on charges of resisting arrest, battery on an officer and his previous outstanding warrants.
