Livermore, CA—The world can be an unexpected and dangerous place, and the current events of this past week have served to prove this unfortunate fact yet again. Just a couple of days ago, a young man was shot in the stomach and then abandoned by his aggressors in the middle of a wilderness trail.
Local police are currently investigating this tragic shooting, which happened last Tuesday afternoon on the Arroyo Trail in the Livermore, CA, region. According to the report, the violent attack occurred at around 1:15 p.m. on the 1000 block at Murrieta Boulevard.
When the officers arrived on the scene, they were horrified to discover a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound in his abdomen. The police reported that apparently, two men around age 20 had confronted the victim on the trail and had proceeded to fire on him.
The shooters’ motives for committing this crime is, at this time, unknown. The victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and the suspects have not yet been apprehended. This seemingly random crime has left the Livermore area shaken, especially in light of all the recent gun violence that has occurred around the country.
However, local police are working hard to bring about justice and to apprehend the aggressors. One witness testified to hearing some shots in the area, but local law enforcement is encouraging anybody with information about this case to call the Livermore Police Department at 925-371-4777. Any information at this point is helpful in furthering the investigation.
