Description


Part-time position coaching youth sports: basketball, soccer, baseball/t-ball, sports sampler, volleyball, or football/flag football. Open to offering other sports programs depending on qualifications and experience.

Examples of Duties


Coaches are responsible for planning and executing practices as well as attending and actively coaching gameplay. Building positive relationships with youth is an essential function of this position. Some knowledge of motor development would be helpful in selecting drills and coaching. Coaching experience is a plus, but not necessary. Recreation staff will support coach needs with resources in basic knowledge of working with youth as well as ideas for practices. Must follow league rules. Create a positive environment for youth. Teach skills of the sport, as well as good sportsmanship and working as a team. Build relationships and good communication with families of participants.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:
The candidate must have experience working with youth and must have the ability to positively interact with children and families, handle behaviors, first aid training a plus. Basic knowledge of the game is required. Previous coaching and/or sport specific experience is a plus. Candidate must pass a background check.
