We're actively looking for experienced Pattern Makers who can lay out, machine, fit, and assemble castings and parts using metal or plastic foundry patterns, core boxes, or match plates-all while prioritizing safety for themselves and others.

Job Description: Foundry Pattern Maker

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Foundry Pattern Maker

• Safety Compliance : Follow all processes and procedures outlined in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Report any deviations to management promptly.
• Machine Operation : Set up and operate various machine tools, including milling machines, lathes, drill presses, sanders, and saws.
• Blueprint Interpretation : Read and interpret blueprints or drawings for casting parts or creating patterns. Calculate dimensions and plan operational sequences.
• Quality Verification : Use measuring instruments (calipers, scales, micrometers) to ensure patterns and core box dimensions meet specifications.
• Pattern Creation : Craft master patterns, working patterns, or core boxes based on instructions.
• Assembly and Repair : Assemble pattern sections using hand tools, bolts, screws, or glue. Repair and rework wooden core boxes.
• Layout and Drawing : Scribe patterns onto material using compasses, protractors, rulers, and other tools.
• Finishing Work : Sand and finish patterns using emery cloths, files, scrapers, and power grinders.
• Follow Blocks : Construct follow blocks if needed for molding master patterns.
• Pattern Mounting : Mount and gate working patterns as instructed.
• Identification : Mark identification numbers or symbols on patterns or templates.
• Workstation Maintenance : Maintain a neat and orderly workstation.

Qualifications: Foundry Pattern Maker

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in a technical field or vocational training preferred.
• Three to five years of related on-the-job experience.
• Must provide personal tools not provided by the company.
