RECRUITING FOR A POSITION LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN

The Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the University of TN Health Science Center in Knoxville invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Clinical Instructor, with an expected start date of January 1, 2025. Rank and salary will be based on prior experience. Primary responsibilities include providing: (1) Clinical education/ supervision to graduate students, (2) Direct evidence-based early intervention service to client and their families, (3) Service to the department, university, and professional communities, and (4) Participating in scholarship activities such as research, presentations, publications related to interprofessional education, pediatrics, autism and/or early intervention.

Clinical education supervision of students in the occupational therapy program. Clinical education supervision of students in speech language pathology on interdisciplinary practices in collaboration with speech-language pathologists.

Participating in research related to autism and/or early intervention, training and supervision of students. Direct early intervention services to clients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NBCOT certified occupational therapist who is licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee.
  • Have earned a minimum of an occupational therapy master's degree from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.

  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience

Preferred:

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in

    occupational therapy, specializing in autism and early intervention (Birth-5 years).

  • Experience providing assessment and treatment services to children ages 1-5 with autism or related developmental disorders.

  • Experience with clinical supervision desired.

  • Prior experience in interprofessional education or practice.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

The College also houses a research arm, the Division of Regenerative and Rehabilitation Sciences (), and includes the Muscle Biology and Sarcopenia Laboratory, the Muscle and Neural Laboratory, the Integrative Muscle Biology Laboratory, the Human Performance Clinical and Research Laboratory, and the Movement Science Laboratory.
