Job Summary/Description: WLOX is looking for an experienced journalist to join our team as an Anchor/Reporter. We're looking for a newsroom leader who is energized by breaking news, developing sources, and cultivating community relationships in South Mississippi. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Co-anchor morning newscasts Monday-Friday
• Present news in an urgent & active manner
• Conduct live interviews and anchor continuous coverage
• Help evaluate leads and tips in order to develop story ideas
• Contribute stories to all platforms - streaming, website, and social media
• Shoot, edit & write as a reporter on special reports
• Cover news in the field when necessary
• Represent the station in the community and for various promotional events

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be able to work quickly, meet deadlines, multi-task, and show composure, especially during high-pressure breaking news situations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• This position requires exceptional news judgment, a strong work ethic, and a desire to work with a team
• A college degree or equivalent job experience in a journalism-related field is preferred
• MVR check required
