About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director, Philanthropy to lead a team in the development and execution of an annual fundraising strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for building partnerships to secure multi-year gifts from high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and foundations, with a focus on supporting the organization's policy and advocacy campaigns. This role involves overseeing the team that manages peer-to-peer fundraising and ensuring a strong mix of funding from various donor segments. The Managing Director will also serve as a key liaison across the organization, advising on fundraising goals and opportunities, and will be a member of the Senior Management Team, engaging in priority projects and leading the fundraising efforts. Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 10 years in a relevant field, and a proven track record in leading diverse teams and developing comprehensive fundraising plans. Experience in fundraising for advocacy or electoral campaigns, as well as in prospecting and cultivating foundation partnerships, is essential. The role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, and a commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Professional proficiency in MS Office and English is a must, and experience in online advocacy fundraising and knowledge of CRM databases is preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines and will have a strong background in donor communication, including grant writing.
