As a Azure Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting cutting-edge security architectures that safeguard data across cloud platforms. Your expertise will ensure robust security and compliance throughout the cloud migration journey, while collaborating with DevOps, InfoSec, and Global Cloud Operations teams to address cyber threats and incidents. Youll take the lead in designing automated security processes, configuring infrastructure, and implementing controls that drive operational efficiency. With your deep knowledge of security frameworks, vulnerability testing, and proactive monitoring, youll help shape a strong security posture and contribute to seamless security operations that protect our organization and clients at every stage of the SDLC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of cutting-edge security architectures that protect data across leading Cloud platforms.
- Dive into security and compliance analysis to ensure robust, future-proof systems.
- Safeguard security and compliance during seamless application migrations to the cloud.
- Evaluate how customer teams tackle security alerts and incident responses, ensuring rapid resolution and mitigation.
- Document and streamline security processes for both end customers and operations teams, making security accessible and actionable.
- Implement vital security and compliance controls, ensuring every step aligns with best practices.
- Conduct thorough reviews of security settings, including NSG and Firewalls, to fortify defenses.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain cutting-edge security infrastructure, ensuring it runs smoothly and securely.
- Collaborate closely with InfoSec and Global Cloud Operations teams to discover, analyze, and contain cyber threats.
- Offer expert guidance and hands-on support in deploying security measures while championing information security management.
- Partner with DevOps teams to foster a strong security posture, integrating security seamlessly across orchestration, automation, and configuration management in the SDLC pipeline.
- Work with security assessment teams during testing to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and analyze vulnerability scans and penetration tests.
- Design and implement automated security processes that not only enhance efficiency but also reduce manual efforts.
- Engage with infrastructure teams to deliver seamless, high-quality security services and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee daily IT security systems monitoring, reviewing security alerts and logs to stay ahead of potential issues.
- Prepare and document standard operating procedures, making security management simple and effective.
- Be a key player in the incident response team, providing expert troubleshooting, analysis, and forensics when cyber threats emerge.
- Keep ahead of the curve by staying up to date on the latest IT security trends, news, and standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Bring your 5+ years of experience in security engineering, mastering network security, application security, and security frameworks.
- Hold a Bachelors degree in a related field, or demonstrate equivalent hands-on experience and training that proves your expertise.
- Have the interpersonal finesse to collaborate seamlessly with both technical experts and non-technical teams across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with implementing and managing Azure Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud Workload Protection tools, like Prisma Cloud, Dome 9, or Lacework, to elevate security.
- A deep, practical understanding of Azure Cloud security fundamentals and compliance.
- Expert in log analysis using SIEM tools, crafting and fine-tuning alert rules, and interpreting logs from diverse platforms like Linux, Windows, and network appliances.
- Familiar with SumoLogic, GuardDuty, ELK, Splunk, LogRhythm, and platforms for EDR and Anti-Malware technology.
- Adept in threat modeling, network security, cryptography, and authenticationspecializing in RBAC and other key security protocols.
- Hands-on experience securing public cloud deployments and distributed systems, especially within the Azure environment.
- Solid knowledge of data encryption techniques, ensuring that data remains safe and protected.
- Experience in DevOps, SecOps, and incident management functions, understanding their critical role in fortifying IT security.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Go to automate processes and enhance efficiency.
- Proficient with tools like JIRA to stay organized and manage tasks efficiently.
Other Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with top-tier security testing tools like Qualys, Nikto, Burp Suite, AppScan, WebInspector, SQLMAP, Kali, and more, ensuring comprehensive vulnerability assessments.
- Deep understanding of application security patterns, from web application security (OWASP Top 10, XSS, injection flaws, CSRF) to platform hardening, and mobile security strategies (device fingerprinting, mobile authentication, and key exchange).
- Expertise in executing security testing (SAST, DAST, and SCA) integrated into CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless, automated security checks.
- Bonus points for the ability to code custom automation for security tasks, driving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- Preferably, an industry-recognized certification such as AZURE Security, SSCP, Security+, CISA, CCSK, CEH, or an alternative, validating your deep security knowledge.
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is highly preferred, along with 3+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, network security, and application security. You should have practical knowledge of Azure Cloud security, security frameworks, and compliance standards, with experience using tools like Prisma Cloud or Azure Security Posture Management. Whether youre just starting out or have a few years of experience under your belt, a combination of formal education and hands-on expertise will demonstrate your readiness to excel in this role!
