Activities Director – Assisted Living Facility (ALF) Job Posting Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and creative Activities Director to design, coordinate, and implement engaging programs for residents in our Assisted Living Facility (ALF). The ideal candidate will have a passion for enriching the lives of seniors through recreational, social, and wellness activities that promote community, joy, and a sense of purpose. Key Responsibilities: Program Development: Create and manage a diverse calendar of activities that includes recreational, educational, social, and wellness-focused events. Tailor programs to meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents. Resident Engagement: Encourage resident participation and actively seek feedback to enhance program offerings. Build positive relationships with residents to understand their interests and needs. Event Coordination: Plan and oversee special events, celebrations, and outings. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of activities. Team Collaboration: Supervise and train activity staff and volunteers. Work closely with the caregiving team to integrate activities into the daily care schedule. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of attendance, resident preferences, and activity outcomes. Manage the activities budget and procure necessary materials and supplies. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in recreation, therapeutic recreation, or a related field preferred). Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in planning and leading activities in a senior living or healthcare setting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Creativity and the ability to adapt programs to meet diverse needs. Proficiency in basic computer applications and documentation. Certification in Activities or Therapeutic Recreation (preferred or required depending on state regulations). Why Join Us?
