Fremont Man Arrested in Home Burglary
Posted on: 11/30/2014
Earlier this month an officer was conducting a traffic stop when he noticed that someone was shouting that their house was being robbed. Two men were seen running away from the house that had been broken in to.
The suspect had scaled up the side of the home to the second floor and broke in through an unlocked sliding glass door. Two adult and two teens were home and heard the burglar entering the home. Two of the victims confronted the suspect and chased him out the front door.
Once they were outside one of the victims shouted to the officer across the street and the other chased the suspect on foot. The officer that was alerted happened to be a sergeant and a SWAT supervisor. He quickly engaged in pursuit and apprehended the suspect without incident.
The suspect who was later identified as Norman Desumala, 33, of Fremont was then booked into jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and residential burglary.
